> Who is Pofrima?

Papa Oumar Fall called "Pofrima Selo" is from the district Sànc-suuf of the City Ndar-Geec (also known as St. Louis), a peninsula near the mouth of the Senegal River. Artist by passion and linguist by training, he also acts as an agent to accompany young Senegalese artists in their search for opportunities and in promoting their artistic producton. He is general Secretary of the Movement SEMEtt, a sociocultural initiative working for the "endogenous development" of Africa. The approach of SEMEtt is based on Environment, Education, Culture and Communication.

After working for 2 years as a cultural Assistant in the Dverc-Ucad, he was recruited from 2007 to 2008 in the project "African Cultural Heritage" of the IFAN-Ucad). He was also involved, in the same period, in the laboratory of Linguistics of the IFAN. To complete the writing of his PHD, he is currently in Germany at the Institute for Ethnology and African  Studies.

He working also on the production of a series of paintings devoted to the relationship between religiosity and “self'image”. This is, according to him, "to question the symbols and signs of different religions and beliefs around the world to illustrate the expession of the spirituality. This is less an analysis of the sacredness of that its expression. It is a kind of invitation to the understanding and respect for others through his faith and beliefs.
